Beautiful Butterflies grace Rosehill

Butterfly bushes off the dining deck at Rosehill are sure living up to their names!  I have counted at lease 5 different types, colors and sizes of butterflies on those gorgeous deep purple blooms!
Here is a pic that one of our guests, Jill Definis took!

As summer swiftly approaches, we are enjoying our feathered friends at Rosehill!  We are watching our resident Bluebirds, the Goldfinches after the newly bloomed thistle, the Hummingbirds loving our roses right off the front porch, Red Winged Blackbirds and the Great Blue Heron who frequent the pond, Red Tailed Hawks daily hunting over the property, and owls swooping through our covered arena at night.  We have even spotted a Bald Eagle several times hunting over the property.  A great place to photograph or just watch birds.

Rosehill offers Two Hearts One Language an equine facilitated learning program

The Inn at Rosehill & Rosehill Stables is proud to now offer Two Hearts One Language, an equine facilitated learning program developed by equine professional, Janie Smith. It is a program designed to help participants find their authentic self and ground there. There are several facets of the program: Growth & Learning for Children and Youth; Personal Development & Growth; Women’s Empowerment/Survivors of Domestic Violence; Corporate Teambuilding & Leadership Development.
We are particularly excited about the Growth & Learning for Children and Youth facet of Two Hearts One Language, especially if your child is struggling with relationships or self-esteem. Participants are welcomed into a safe and non-threatening environment to participate in activities designed to build trust, resourcefulness, self-esteem, and problem-solving skills. Participants draw on their interaction with the horses and are then able to compare that interaction to other situations or relationships in their lives. This program runs 1 ½ hours a week for 12 weeks.
Growth & Learning for Children and Youth, is offered as a group program and an individual program. The group program is highly effective as it allows children to see the horses’ behavior with a myriad of personalities and that interaction helps them see how what they offer in behavior is perceived by others and mirrored back to them. Equine professionals and counselors, as well as the horses are part of each session.
The Two Hearts One Language Growth & Learning for Children and Youth group program is offered at $420.00 for twelve weeks ($35.00 per session which is comparable to our lesson program). Please contact us at 704-764-3989 or PM us on FB for more information and registration for this empowering series.

Gorgeous sunrise

For those of us who were up in Rosehill's workout room this morning with its wall of windows overlooking the pond and meadows, the day greeted us with an amazing sunrise of pink and violet, and two beautiful Canadian Geese gliding quietly on the pond together.  What a way to start the morning!

Spring is in the air at Rosehill!

Spring is indeed in the air!  Rosehill is in full swing touching up after winter, completing our pergola by the pond, which will no doubt become a favorite place for Rosehill weddings!  Another project, a little rose garden under one of our biggest trees with a bench to sit by the horses on top of the hill will be finished this week!

Check out our fb page and our website calendar for spring class offerings through our energy center! Make this spring a beautiful start to the rest of your life, after coming off of winter's long sleep.

We have openings in our lesson program and a few horses to half lease if learning to ride, or getting back into riding is on your bucket list.

Beautiful birds and baby Great Blue Heron

Another beautiful morning at The Inn at Rosehill.  Yesterday morning we were having coffee on the dining porch at the rear of the Inn by the pond, when a baby blue heron landed on the wire next to a row of smaller birds.  Most of the other birds flew off, with the exception of one who sat next to baby blue for a bit.  As one of our guests tried to stealthily go for their camera, baby blue flew out over the field and then circled back in a fly-by to give us a once over.  Late afternoon, the day before, one of the adult Great Blue's was hunting in the pond.  We also have a Snowy Egret that frequents the pond and sometime brings a mate with him.  The frogs are getting a little jumpy!

The thistle is blooming, so the American Gold Finches are out in force.  Our friends, the Eastern Bluebirds are always in residence from spring through late fall.  The butterfly bushes are abuzz with butterflies including a Monarch or two flitting back and forth between purple flowers right off the back porch.  The dining porch at Rosehill is the place to be for serious and not-so-serious bird watchers!

The lovely French country kitchen and dining area are large and spacious on one end of our great room. Our guest dining area is separated from our guest lounge by a low garden fence, to take advantage of an unbroken view of the large stone fireplace and billiard table in the lounge. The large windows bring nature in with a view of the pond. Off of the lounge there is a lovely porch set with tables and chairs where guests are invited to enjoy their coffee or a glass of wine in the afternoon.

The magnificent open front foyer and center stair hall with Rosehill’s baby grand piano is a perfect place for an event or a bride to make a grand entrance. The executive dining room and adjoining living room with its walk around fireplace complete the circle to allow an open flow. These spacious common rooms are the perfect setting for your event. While we love horses of all breeds, we especially promote the Friesian horse, and along with it, the discipline of Dressage.

The equestrian center also features Rosehill Lodge, a 2,000+ square foot event center with a fireplace and full kitchen in its great room. This lovely space finished with plantation shutters is perfect for classroom style presentations, lectures, get-togethers or receptions.
